Notwithstanding the first paragraph of section 59 of the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information (chapter A-2.1), the returning officer, during the election period, may allow an elector to examine, at the main office of the returning officer, any nomination paper received as well as all the information contained in the accompanying documents that concerns the qualification of the person offering himself as a candidate. That information is determined by directive of the Chief Electoral Officer. Notwithstanding the second paragraph of section 10 of the said Act, only a candidate may obtain a copy of a nomination paper.
