943. The arbitrators may require each party to furnish to them, within a delay fixed, a statement of his pretensions and the documents which he invokes.
The arbitrators must hear the parties and receive their evidence or, if they offer none, record their default; they follow the procedure which they themselves determine, unless the parties have agreed otherwise.
The witnesses are summoned in accordance with the rules set forth in articles 280 to 284, and are sworn before the prothonotary or before any other person authorized to administer the oath.
The minutes of the hearing must be signed by all the arbitrators, unless the submission has otherwise provided.
