Section 519.10

519.10. A driver must record in a record of duty status for each day concerned, in compliance with the requirements prescribed by regulation and subject to the exceptions provided for in the regulation, all the driver’s hours of rest and hours of service for that day, as well as any other information required by regulation.
The information must be recorded using an electronic logging device that meets the requirements prescribed by regulation.
No driver shall
(1) produce more than one record of duty status in respect of any day, except in the cases and on the conditions prescribed by regulation;
(2) use more than one electronic logging device at the same time for the same period; or
(3) enter inaccurate information, falsify, deface or make illegible the records of duty status and supporting documents or otherwise impair their integrity.
No driver who is required to produce records of duty status shall drive unless the driver has in his or her possession the documents determined by regulation.
The driver must, on the conditions prescribed by regulation, make available or forward the record of duty status, supporting documents and information determined by regulation to the operator and any other person who supplies the driver’s services. Furthermore, the driver must make them available or forward them, for examination, to a peace officer at the latter’s request, in compliance with the conditions prescribed by regulation. If the record of duty status and supporting documents are in paper form, the peace officer must return them to the driver after examination.
In respect of heavy vehicles registered in the name of Hydro-Québec or one of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, the coming into force of the amendments made by 2022, c. 13, s. 61 is fixed at 31 December 2024. (O.C. 76-2023, 2023 G.O. 2, 71)
519.10. In respect of heavy vehicles registered in the name of the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable that are under the management of the Centre de gestion de l'équipement roulant of that department, the coming into force of the amendments made by 2022, c. 13, s. 61 is fixed at 1 September 2023 and to 31 December 2024 in respect of heavy vehicles registered in the name of Hydro-Québec or one of its wholly-owned subsidiaries. 519.10. Unless the conditions prescribed by regulation are met, a driver must, in the manner prescribed by regulation, maintain a daily log each day, in the form determined by regulation, that accounts for all of the driver’s hours of rest and hours of service for that day, as well as any other information required by regulation.
No driver shall keep more than one daily log in respect of any day.
No driver shall enter inaccurate information into a daily log or falsify, deface or mutilate a daily log or supporting documents.
No driver who is required to maintain a daily log shall drive unless the driver has the documents prescribed by regulation in the driver’s possession.
The driver must, in accordance with the standards prescribed by regulation, forward the daily log and supporting documents to the operator and any other person who supplies the driver’s services. Furthermore, the driver must surrender them for examination to a peace officer, at the officer’s request. The daily log and documents must be returned to the driver after examination.
519.10. Furthermore, the driver must surrender them for examination to a peace officer or inspector appointed under section 519.69, at the officer’s or inspector’s request. The daily log and documents must be returned to the driver after examination.
519.10. A driver, including a relief driver, must keep a daily log of hours of driving and hours of service in accordance with the terms and conditions prescribed by regulation, and enter all required information therein.
No driver or relief driver shall be in possession of more than one daily log of hours of driving and hours of service.
A driver or relief driver must keep the daily logs and any other document prescribed by regulation in the vehicle. In addition, the driver or relief driver must surrender the daily logs for examination at the request of a peace officer or an inspector appointed under section 519.69. The daily logs as well as any other documents requested must be returned after examination to the driver or relief driver, as the case may be.
519.10. Every driver of a bus must ensure that baggage, freight or express is distributed and secured in a manner which assures
(1) unrestricted freedom of movement for the driver and his proper operation of the bus;
(2) unobstructed access to all exits by any occupant of the bus;
(3) protection of the occupants of the bus against injury resulting from the falling or displacement of articles transported in the bus.
This section does not apply to hand luggage.
