220. (Repealed).

220. The returning officer must establish as many advance polling stations as he considers necessary and determine which polling subdivisions are attached to each; he shall immediately inform each candidate and each authorized party. He shall indicate in the notice provided for in section 171 at what place, date and hours those polling stations are open.

220. (1)  The council may, by by-law, establish as many special polling stations as it deems necessary to enable the persons mentioned in subsection 2 to vote, fix the day or days and the hours for polling in such polling stations and determine how such persons must identify themselves to the returning officer in order to obtain a ballot.
(2)  The only persons permitted to vote at a special polling station are railway, post-office or express company employees, navigators, missionary priests and commercial travellers who, owing to their ordinary employment, will be obliged on the general polling day to be absent from the municipality where the election is taking place and will not be able to vote there on such day.
(3)  The other provisions of this act respecting polling in an ordinary polling station shall apply, mutatismutandis, to polling in a special polling station.
