131. A judge may, after consultation with the chief judge and the Minister of Justice, be appointed by the Solicitor General to exercise the functions of part-time coroner in accordance with section 7 of the Act respecting the determination of the causes and circumstances of death (chapter R-0.2). In this event, the judge is entitled only to his salary as a judge and to the expense allowance fixed pursuant to this Act, and the oath made pursuant to this Act is valid for the exercise of his functions as part-time coroner.
