55.10. An authorized person who has reasonable cause to believe that an animal, a product or equipment to which this Act applies is or was in premises, other than a dwelling-house, or in a vehicle may, in the performance of his duties,(1) enter and inspect the premises or the vehicle at any reasonable time;
(2) stop any such vehicle to inspect it;
(2.1) require the suspension or restriction, during the inspection, of any activity or any operation to which this Act applies;
(2.2) order that an animal, a product or equipment be submitted for examination and prohibit or limit other animals’ access to that animal, product or equipment until the examination has been conducted;
(3) examine any animal, product or equipment, open any receptacle found in the premises or vehicle and take samples or specimens therefrom free of charge;
(4) record or take photographs of the premises, vehicle, animal, product or equipment;
(5) require the communication, for purposes of examination, reproduction or for making extracts, of any book account, register, record or document if he believes on reasonable grounds that they contain information relating to the application of this Act or the regulations;
(6) be accompanied by any person whose presence is considered necessary for the purposes of the inspection, who may then exercise the powers set out in paragraphs 1, 3 and 4.
