For the purposes of Chapter II and this chapter, one or more risks insured by a life insurer resident in Canada, as part of an insurance business it carries on in a country other than Canada, that, but for this section, would not be specified Canadian risks, are deemed to be specified Canadian risks if those risks would be deemed to be specified Canadian risks under paragraph a.21 of subsection 2 of section 95 of the Income Tax Act (R.S.C. 1985, c. 1 (5th Suppl.)) if the insurer were a foreign affiliate of a taxpayer.
