C-8.2.1 - Act respecting emergency communication centres

3. To ensure emergency communication response in its territory, a local municipality may take one or more of the following measures:
(1)  set up its own 9-1-1 emergency centre;
(2)  enter into an agreement with another local municipality to use the services of the latter’s 9-1-1 emergency centre; and
(3)  contract with a private enterprise or a non-profit body that operates a 9-1-1 emergency centre.
The local municipality must inform the Minister of the contact information of the 9-1-1 emergency centre that responds to emergency communications in its territory.

3. This Act shall not operate to limit obligations imposed or powers granted by or under other Acts as regards civil protection.
