976. The judge, who himself examines and cross-examines, gives equitable and impartial assistance to each party so as to render effective the substantive law and to ensure that it is carried out.
The examination and cross-examination, in the case of a legal person, bears in particular on the right of that person to avail itself of the provisions of this Book.
