17. The object of the Authority is the repayment of its bonded debt.

17. The object of the Authority shall be:
(a)  the study of any projected autoroutes and related works which may be assigned to it at any time by the Government;
(b)  the preparation of plans and specifications for any projected autoroutes, connecting highways, improvements and all related works, upon order of the Government;
(c)  the construction of autoroutes, connecting highways, improvements and all related works, upon order of the Government;
(d)  the administration of autoroutes;
(e)  the carrying out of the necessary maintenance and repair work to preserve the autoroutes in good condition;
(f)  the adoption of regulations respecting such highways;
(g)  repealed.

(b)  the preparation of plans and specifications for any projected autoroutes, connecting highways, improvements and all related works, upon order of the Gouvernement;
(c)  the construction of autoroutes, connecting highways, improvements and all related works, upon order of the Gouvernement;
(d)  the administration of autoroutes;
(e)  the carrying out of the necessary maintenance and repair work to preserve the autoroutes in good condition;
(f)  the adoption of regulations respecting such highways;
(g)  the employment of constables to ensure compliance with the law and regulations respecting such highways.
The constables appointed in conformity with paragraph g are peace officers exofficio.
