60.0.5. If the Minister considers that the available stock of a medication entered on the list of medications is becoming scarce and there is a serious risk of a stock shortage, the Minister may, by publishing a notice on the Board’s website, suspend, if applicable, the application of any preferential procurement agreement relating to that medication. The Minister may also, for the same reasons and in the same manner, suspend the application of the regulatory provisions enacted under paragraph 4.1 of section 80 governing generic medication procurement by owner pharmacists. The suspension applies on the date of publication of the notice or any later date specified in the notice. A notice of the end date of the suspension is also published on the Board’s website.
The accredited manufacturer or wholesaler or the intermediary within the meaning of the second paragraph of section 80.1 governed by such an agreement must then supply any pharmacist who requests it.
