A person who, without holding a forestry permit or other authorization under this Act, cuts, displaces, removes or harvests timber on lands in the domain of the State, or who damages trees or taps a maple tree on those lands, is guilty of an offence and is liable to a fine of(1) $5 to $450 for each tree in respect of which an offence is committed; or
(2) $200 to $5,000 if the offence involves shrubs or forest biomass.
