27. A health professional with the authority to make a diagnosis or to assess a person’s state of health must report by telephone as soon as possible to the competent public health director,(1) acute broncho-pulmonary injury of chemical origin (bronchiolitis, pneumonitis, alveolitis, bronchitis or pulmonary edema); and
(2) injury of the cardiac, digestive, hematopoietic, urinary, pulmonary or neurological systems where the health professional with the authority to make a diagnosis or to assess a person’s state of health has serious reason to believe that the injury is the result of an environmental or occupational origin to gases and asphyxiants.
The person reporting must send a written report to those directors within 48 hours of the telephone communication.
