In this Regulation, the term “fluorescent orange-coloured” means a colour with a dominant wave length between 595 and 605 nanometers, and an excitation purity of not less than 85 % and a luminance factor of 40 %.

Subject to section 3, every hunter who is hunting, guide or other person accompanying a hunter who is hunting in the zones described in the Regulation respecting fishing and hunting areas (chapter C-61.1, r. 34) must wear an orange-coloured fluorescent garment that covers his back, shoulders and chest, is at least 2,580 square centimetres, and that can always be seen from any angle.

Section 2 does not apply:
(
a
)
for hunting moose, white-tailed deer or black bear during a hunting period for that big game with a type 6 or 11 hunting implement within the meaning of the Regulation respecting hunting (chapter C-61.1, r. 12), for hunting American crow, rock dove, northern leopard frogs, green frogs, bullfrogs, Arctic or snowshoe hare or eastern cottontail with snares, and migratory game birds within the meaning of the Regulation respecting hunting or from 1 December to 31 March for hunting coyotes, wolves and red, cross or silver foxes;
(
b
)
to the beneficiaries of the Agreement concerning James Bay and Northern Québec, and the beneficiaries of the Northeastern Québec Agreement on the territories covered by those Agreements;
(
c
)
for hunting with a bow or crossbow in a hunting sector reserved for the exclusive use of a bow or a crossbow in a wildlife sanctuary or controlled zone;
(
d
)
for hunting in a hunting sector in a territory on which exclusive hunting rights have been given by lease and on the condition that all hunters use a bow or crossbow for hunting therein;
(
e
)
for hunting with a bow or crossbow in a location where only hunting with a hunting implement other than a firearm is permitted.
