52. Whosoever injures, damages or destroys any dam, slide, apron, boom, gate-lock or other work intended to facilitate the driving or passage of timber shall be liable to a fine of not more than $20 nor less than $2, or, on failure to pay such fine, to imprisonment for not less than two days nor more than ten days in the house of detention of the district in which the offence was committed, over and above all damages resulting therefrom.
