6. On pain of dismissal, no cadet or member of the Police Force shall be a candidate in any federal, provincial, municipal or school election, or engage in partisan activity in favour of any candidate or political party.
The provisions of the preceding paragraph shall apply to every special constable within the limits of the territory for which he is appointed; they shall also apply to every municipal cadet or policeman but the latter may be a candidate or engage in partisan activity at the time of a municipal or school election outside the limits of any judicial district whereof the municipality that employs him forms part.
Any person who, directly or indirectly and whether personally or through another, orders a cadet or member of the Police Force, a special constable or a municipal cadet or policeman to engage in any partisan activity contrary to the preceding paragraphs or incites a policeman to do so, is guilty of an offence and liable on summary proceeding to a fine of $100 to $500 and to imprisonment for six months, in addition to payment of the costs.
