223. A school board may, in addition to the programs of studies established by the Minister, develop and offer local programs of studies in elective subjects whether or not established by the Minister, to meet any special needs of the students. It may grant to such programs, with the authorization of the Minister, a number of credits greater than that provided for in the basic school regulation.
The local programs of studies in respect of Catholic or Protestant moral and religious instruction, shall be submitted to the Catholic committee or Protestant committee for approval in accordance with section 22 of the Act respecting the Conseil supérieur de l’éducation (chapter C-60).
In addition, a school board may, subject to the provisions of the basic school regulation and unless the Minister decides otherwise, develop and offer a program of studies in a subject it determines leading to an occupation or a profession and for which it may deliver an attestation of qualification.
