1583. Deposit by the debtor of the sum of money or the securities which he owes is made in the general deposit office for Québec or any trust company or, during judicial proceedings, in accordance with the rules of the Code of Civil Procedure (chapter C-25). Deposit may be made not only where the creditor refuses to accept the money or securities owed by the debtor, but also, among other cases, where the claim is in dispute between several persons or where the debtor is prevented from making payment by reason of the fact that the creditor cannot be found at the place where the payment is to be made.
