39. If the judge appointed to administer justice in a district other than that of Québec, Montréal, Trois-Rivières, Saint-François, Mégantic or Bedford is absent or unable to act, the matters provided for by articles 211, 485, 489, 733, 734.0.1, 734.1, 753 and 834.1 may be presented to a judge of the district of Québec or of Montréal, according as they come from a district under the jurisdiction of the Court of Appeal sitting at Québec or of the Court of Appeal sitting at Montréal. Other proceedings may be similarly dealt with if the adverse party consents.
Under the same conditions, a judge appointed to administer justice in the district of Hull may hear proceedings from the districts of Pontiac and Labelle, and a judge appointed to administer justice in the district of Saint-François may hear proceedings from the districts of Bedford and Mégantic.
