636.1. Where a peace officer reasonably suspects the presence of alcohol in the body of a person driving or having the care or control of a road vehicle, he may require him to undergo forthwith any reasonable physical coordination tests he indicates to him to ascertain whether there is cause for requiring him to undergo the tests provided for in section 254 of the Criminal Code (Revised Statutes of Canada, 1985, chapter C-46). The person must comply with this requirement without delay.
This section applies on highways under the administration of or maintained by the Ministère des Ressources naturelles, de la Faune et des Parcs, on private roads open to public vehicular traffic and on land occupied by shopping centres or other land where public traffic is allowed, as well as on public highways.
