When a fine has been incurred by a corporation, association, or firm, recognized by law, such fine and costs may be levied by the seizure and sale of the goods and effects of the said corporation, association, or firm, in virtue of a writ of execution issued from the said court, and proceedings shall be had upon the said writ in the manner prescribed for seizure and execution in civil matters.
