120. (1) The company, when operating any portion of its line across or along a highway by electricity conveyed by wires above ground, shall cause to be strung and maintained guard wires sufficient to prevent telegraph, telephone or other wires strung across or along the highway from coming into contact or falling upon the said wires conveying such electricity.
(2) The company, when operating any portion of its line by electricity, shall use such means and appliances as may, so far as reasonably possible, prevent water-pipes, gas-pipes, cables and other things placed underground, from being damaged in consequence of the escape or discharge of electricity into the ground.
