23. The Minister of Energy and Resources may by order transfer to the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the jurisdiction over any public land that he considers by its nature or situation to be suitable for agricultural purposes. Land thus transferred is subject to the Act respecting public agricultural lands (chapter T-9.1) and ceases to be subject to any forest operation permit.

23. The Government may make a classification of public lands as follows:

(1)  Colonization lands, that is to say those which by their nature or situation are capable of being used for colonization and agricultural purposes;

(2)  Lands for forest industries.
