20. The Government is authorized to acquire private lands, by exchange or otherwise, upon the conditions and for the prices it may determine, when required by the interests of agriculture in any locality.
Such lands, as soon as they are acquired by the Crown, shall be classed as public lands according to the terms of section 2; and the provisions of the law respecting the sale and administration of public lands, of woods and forests and of mines and fisheries in Québec shall be applicable thereto.
