145. Any person engaged to work for the protection of forests against fire may require the services of any man not less than eighteen nor more than fifty-five years old and the equipment necessary to help fight a forest fire. Such helper shall not leave such work without the authorization of the fire-ranger or his representative and shall be entitled for such work to the compensation fixed by the Minister; such compensation shall be paid to him in accordance with the agreements made for such purpose by the Minister with the persons who are authorized to see to the protection of the forest against fire.
Any person referred to in this section who refuses or neglects, without reasonable cause or excuse, to comply with the demand of the fire-ranger or his representative to help in fighting a forest fire, shall be guilty of an offence and liable to the penalties provided in section 148.
