102. When a chief judge or judge of the sessions reaches seventy years of age, he shall cease to hold office and shall be retired; in such case, an annual pension of $23 040 shall be granted to such chief judge and to such judge an annual pension of $20 480.
Nevertheless the Government, whenever it deems it to serve the interests of justice, may authorize any chief judge or judge of the sessions to continue to hold office after having reached seventy years of age. In such case, retirement with a pension shall take place upon the resignation of such judge or on the date fixed by the Government in such authorization.
