20. The Government may authorize the Minister of Public Works and Supply to make with any county municipal corporation agreements respecting the maintenance, equipment and upkeep of premises for keeping the registry office of such county and the Provincial Court when it sits therein.
The Government may for such purposes either grant the county municipal corporation financial assistance or assume the obligations imposed on the latter by the Municipal Code (chapter C-27.1).
When the Government agrees to assume such obligations, the Minister of Public Works and Supply may acquire or take on lease and equip any immoveable of the county municipal corporation, or any other immoveable, or acquire land and erect thereon and equip the building requisite for housing the registry office and the Provincial Court.
