49. The Corporation may, with the authorization of the Government upon the recommendation of the Conseil du trésor and on the conditions determined by the Government:(a) grant subsidies for studies and research respecting renewal and the preparation of renewal programs;
(b) grant allowances for the occupancy of housing by persons or families of low income evicted from housing accommodation as a consequence of the carrying out of a renewal program;
(c) make loans to municipalities, grant them subsidies for the carrying out of a renewal program and contribute to the subsidies granted by the municipalities to the owners of residential buildings affected by the program for the demolition, reconstruction or restoration of such buildings.
Notwithstanding any inconsistent provision of the Municipal Aid Prohibition Act (chapter I-15), a municipality may, jointly with the Corporation, exercise the powers provided in paragraphs a and b and those provided in paragraph c as regards owners of buildings.
