215.11.2. An employee who meets the requirements of subparagraphs 1 to 3 of the first paragraph of section 215.11.1 and who is eligible for a pension under this Title before 1 October 1997 may cease to participate in the retirement plan provided for in this Act, retire and avail themself of the provisions of this Title not later than 1 October 1997 or if the employee has sent to the Commission, within 30 days from the date of receipt of a statement of their benefits under the plan and an estimate of their pension sent by the Commission for the application of the measures provided for in this Title, an application for redemption of years or parts of years of service, at the end of a 30-day period after the date of receipt of a new estimate of their pension with a redemption proposal made by the Commission, whichever is later.
The Government may, by regulation, determine in what cases and subject to what terms and conditions the employee may avail themself of the provisions of this Title on a date subsequent to 1 October 1997.
