13. Notwithstanding section 5, where an employee contributing to the Teachers Pension Plan ceases, after June 30 1973, to hold a position to which such plan is applicable to become, within 180 days, an officer or employee governed by the Act respecting the Civil Service Superannuation Plan, he may elect for the latter plan, from the commencement of his new employment, by giving notice to that effect to the Commission within sixty days of the commencement of his new employment.
In the case where the employee does not make the election provided for in the first paragraph, he is entitled to be credited, by virtue of this plan, with the years of service with which he is entitled to be credited under the Act respecting the Teachers Pension Plan, provided his contributions have not been reimbursed to him. The benefits in respect of such transferred years of service are those which are provided for in section 90 of this act.
The employee’s contributions prior to the date on which he begins to contribute to this plan do not bear interest.
