Section 46.0.1
Disposition versions
46.0.1. The purpose of this division is to foster integrated management of wetlands and bodies of water in keeping with the principle of sustainable development and considering the support capacity of the wetlands and bodies of water concerned and their watersheds, as well as climate change issues.
One objective of this division is to prevent the loss of wetlands and bodies of water, foster development of projects with minimal impacts on the receiving environment and reduce the vulnerability of persons and property exposed to flooding.
In addition, this division requires compensation measures in cases where it is not possible, for the purposes of a project, to avoid adverse effects on the ecological functions and biodiversity of wetlands and bodies of water.
