45. Any property seized by an inspector or officer and whose rightful owner or possessor is unknown or untraceable, or the proceeds of sale of the property, shall be transferred to the Public Curator or to the Minister of Finance according to whether the property or the proceeds of the sale are involved 90 days after the day of seizure; a statement describing the property or the proceeds of the sale and indicating, where applicable, the name and last known address of the interested party shall be sent to the Public Curator at the time of the transfer.
The provisions of the Public Curator Act (chapter C-81) pertaining to unclaimed property shall apply to the property or proceeds of sale so transferred to the Public Curator or to the Minister of Finance.
