73. A registrant who fails to comply with any obligation imposed by this Act or with an obligation imposed by any other Act relating to the filing of a declaration or any other document with the registrar must remedy the failure within 60 days after being requested to do so by the registrar.
The request must state that penal proceedings may be instituted and, if applicable, that the registrant’s registration may be cancelled unless the registrant complies with the request.
A copy of the request is deposited in the register.
No penal proceedings under this Act may be instituted against a registrant to whom the registrar has not given the opportunity to remedy the failure under the first paragraph, unless such proceedings are instituted under section 154 or 161.
