57. (1) The justice of the peace making the conviction or order mentioned in paragraph 1 of section 55 may issue a warrant of distress as in form 16 or 17, as the case may be, and in the case of a conviction or order under paragraph 2 of the said section 55, a warrant as in one of the forms 18 or 19 may issue.
(2) If a warrant of distress be issued, and the constable or peace officer charged with the execution thereof makes return (as in form 20) that he can find no goods or chattels whereon to levy thereunder, the justice of the peace may issue a warrant of commitment as in form 21.
(3) When a conviction or an order adjudges imprisonment in the first instance, the warrant of commitment may be as in form 22.
