329. (1) The judge shall proceed to the recount and re-addition of the votes in the manner prescribed in sections 271 and 272, and shall verify or correct the counting of the ballot-papers and statements of the number of votes given for each candidate.
(2) The fact that the counterfoil has remained attached to a ballot-paper shall not be a reason for rejecting such ballot-paper; the judge must detach and destroy the counterfoil.
