(1) The deputy returning-officer shall take a note of every objection made by any candidate, candidate’s agent or elector to any ballot-paper found in the ballot-box, and shall at once decide every question arising out of the objection. His decision shall be final, subject to reversal only on a recount before a judge, or on a contestation of the validity of the election or of the election return.
(2) Each objection to a ballot-paper shall be entered at the end of the poll-book with mention of the nature of such objection; it shall be numbered and initialled by the deputy returning-officer and a corresponding number shall be placed on the back of the ballot-paper.
