17. A bar permit entitles the holder to sell alcoholic beverages, except draught beer, for consumption on the premises in the room of the establishment designated in the permit.

A bar permit may also entitle the holder to present spectacles or allow dancing in any room of the establishment indicated in the permit.

A bar permit may be granted for use:

(a)  in a hotel, motel, passenger station, airport, theatre or amphitheatre or at a race-track;

(b)  in a separate establishment when used by a person who also uses a restaurant permit in the same establishment which is situated:

i.  in a municipality of a population of more than two thousand souls; or

ii.  in the Laurentides Provincial Park, the Mont Tremblant Provincial Park, the Gaspesian Provincial Park, the Mount Orford Provincial Park or the La Vérendrye Provincial Park; or

iii.  in any place where there is no hotel or motel along a provincial highway or local highway in which a bar permit is in use; or

iv.  in any place where it is established to the satisfaction of the Commission that a permit should be in use in the public interest;

(c)  in a separate establishment when it authorizes the presentation of spectacles or allows dancing, provided that the establishment where it is used is situated in a municipality of a population of more than two thousand souls.

It may be granted for use and used in parks notwithstanding any inconsistent provision of the Parks Act (chapter P-9).
