555. Any person shall, at the request of a representative generally or specially authorized for that purpose by the Council, give him orally or in writing, as the representative requires, on oath or by solemn affirmation, any information necessary to establish the class to which an immoveable is to belong within the meaning of sections 549 to 553.
It is prohibited to hinder such a representative of the Council in any way, to mislead him by concealment or false representations or to refuse to give him any information he is entitled to obtain under this section.
Every person who contravenes this section is guilty of an offence and is liable, on summary proceeding, to a fine of not more than one hundred dollars in addition to payment of the costs. Such fine shall belong to the Council.
