The secretary-treasurer, upon payment of his fees, shall deliver, to any person applying for the same, copies of or extracts from any book, roll, register, document or other paper which forms part of the archives. Such fees shall be of $0.15 a hundred words, every figure to be counted as a word, and of $0.50 for the certificate.
He shall, nevertheless, furnish, free of charge, any copy or extract required by the Lieutenant-Governor, the Minister, or by the school board.
