164. The seat of a school commissioner or trustee shall become vacant if he dies, ceases to be qualified, refuses to accept office, resigns in writing or is absent from six consecutive sittings with an interval of at least seven days between each of them.
The person whose seat is vacant shall be replaced, within the following thirty days, by the person designated by the commissioners or trustees remaining in office. The secretary-treasurer shall inform the Minister of such replacement within the next fifteen days.
