552. Family-type resources are persons recruited as foster families or foster homes.
A foster family is one or two persons receiving in their principal place of residence a maximum of nine children in difficulty entrusted to them by a Santé Québec institution in order to respond to their needs and afford them living conditions fostering a parent-child relationship in a family-like environment, and having entered into an agreement with Santé Québec.
A kinship foster family is one or two persons who have been assessed under the third paragraph of section 536 and have entered into an agreement with Santé Québec, after having been entrusted, under the Youth Protection Act (chapter P-34.1) and for a specified time, with a child designated by name. In making its assessment, the institution must, in particular, take into consideration the significant ties the child has with the person or persons. A foster home is one or two persons receiving in their principal place of residence a maximum of nine adults, including elderly persons, entrusted to them by a Santé Québec institution in order to respond to their needs and afford them living conditions as close to a natural environment as possible, and having entered into an agreement with Santé Québec.
