7. Every fire investigation commissioner shall be exofficio a justice of the peace, without any property qualification being required; every such investigation commissioner may exercise all the rights, powers and privileges granted to, and shall be subject to all the duties, obligations and responsibilities imposed by law upon, justices of the peace.
No fire investigation commissioner may act as a justice of the peace in cases arising from facts that were the subject of his investigation or inquiry.
Any act performed in contravention of the provision of the second paragraph is absolutely null.
