Before the ballot box is opened, the poll clerk records in the poll book
(
1
)
the number of electors who voted;
(
2
)
the number of spoiled or cancelled ballot papers and the number of unused ballot papers; and
(
3
)
the names of the polling officers and the representatives, specifying which are entitled to remuneration.

The deputy returning officer, the poll clerk and the representatives shall use a tally sheet provided by the chief electoral officer for the counting of votes.
