488. The auditor of an authorized party shall audit the financial report of the party if the revenues exceed $5,000. The auditor shall then deliver to the official representative, not later than five days before the expiry of the time prescribed by section 479 for the filing of the financial report, the audit report prepared in accordance with the directive on preparation issued by the chief electoral officer.
Any reimbursement of election expenses or of the expense incurred for the audit of a financial report as well as any supplemental public financing shall be excluded from the revenues referred to in the first paragraph.

The auditor of an authorized party shall examine the financial report of the party and issue to the official representative, not later than five days before the expiry of the time prescribed by section 479 for the filing of the financial report, the audit report prepared in accordance with the directive on preparation issued by the chief electoral officer.

488. The auditor of an authorized party shall examine the financial report of the party and issue to the official representative, not later than five days before the expiry of the time prescribed by section 479 for the filing of the financial report, a report attesting, where such is the case, that according to the collation of the bookkeeping vouchers and bank deposits of the party,
(1)  the financial report examined is accurate;
(2)  he has received the information and explanations required;
(3)  the books of the party have been kept in accordance with accepted accounting principles and with any directives issued by the chief electoral officer in that regard.
