3. To ensure emergency communication response in its territory, a local municipality may take one or more of the following measures:(1) set up its own 9-1-1 emergency centre;
(2) enter into an agreement with another local municipality to use the services of the latter’s 9-1-1 emergency centre; and
(3) contract with a private enterprise or a non-profit body that operates a 9-1-1 emergency centre.
The local municipality must inform the Minister of the contact information of the 9-1-1 emergency centre that responds to emergency communications in its territory.
