380. At the close of the poll, the ballots are counted and added in the presence of the persons mentioned in article 355, by the presiding officer, who must write the result of his operations in the poll book, as provided by article 337.

No ballot may be rejected for the sole reason that the counterfoil has not been detached. In such a case, the presiding officer shall detach the counterfoil and destroy it.

Furthermore, no ballot may be rejected for the sole reason that the mark made in one of the circles goes beyond the circle in which the elector has made his mark.

In the event of there being more than one polling station, the deputy presiding officer shall, without delay, deliver all the documents in his possession to the presiding officer.

The presiding officer shall then place all the ballots cast for each candidate in a separate envelope or packet. He shall also place in separate envelopes or packets the ballot papers which have been rejected, those which have been spoiled and those which have not been used.

He shall deposit such envelopes or packets in the ballot box, together with all the other documents used for the polling.

In addition he must lock and seal the ballot box.
