123. The council of the regional county municipality may, by by-law, constitute an executive committee composed of the warden, the deputy warden and the number of other council members specified in the by-law.
Subject to the third paragraph, the council shall, by resolution, appoint the members of the executive committee in accordance with the number indicated in the by-law.
In the case of a regional county municipality whose territory includes that of a core city within the meaning of paragraph 9.1 of section 1 of the Act respecting land use planning and development (chapter A-19.1), one of the members of the committee must be a representative of the core city, unless the core city has previously waived that requirement. A majority of the members of the committee constitutes a quorum.
