985. The judgment has the authority of res judicata only as to the parties to the action and the amount claimed.
The judgment cannot be invoked in an action based on the same cause and instituted before another court; the court, on its own initiative or at the request of a party, must dismiss any action or proof based on the judgment.

985. When the defendant has availed himself of this Title, the plaintiff, in the case of a natural person, must act himself or be represented only by a person in his sole service bound to him by contract of employment and, in the case of a legal person, be represented only by one of its directors, one of its officers or by a person in its sole service bound to it by contract of employment.
