683. The immovables are offered for sale by auction and sold in a public place determined by the sheriff.
The judge may, upon application, order the sheriff to sell at a more advantageous place.

683. All immoveables must be bid upon and sold at the office of the registrar of the registration district in which they are situated, or, if they are situated on the Island of Montréal or in the same municipality as the officiating sheriff, at such sheriff’s office.
The judge may, upon application, allow the sheriff to sell at a more advantageous place.
