127. The suspension or cancellation of a permit of any kind, to drive a motor vehicle of any kind, shall not be limited by the term of such permit, but shall entail by operation of law forfeiture of the right and capacity to drive a motor vehicle for the whole duration of such suspension. Every person who drives a motor vehicle in contempt of an order for suspension of an operator’s permit or for prohibition to drive made against him according to law is liable to the penalties provided therefor in this Code whether or not he held an operator’s permit or his operator’s permit has expired.
